The ICO is the regulator for information rights – the right to privacy and the right to know. As the issues around data and the right of access to official information become ever more significant to the work of public, private and third sectors, the ICO has been reviewing its own role and impact. We’ve been considering what will be required of us over the next period and what we might do differently – and we wanted to hear from the public and our stakeholders about our ideas. This publication set out our proposed direction for the ICO for the next five years and beyond.
