Head of Cyber - Investigations Technical Lead

This is both an operational and ambassadorial role of national profile. You will help ensure that the ICO has the technical capacity and capability to promote good practice in cybersecurity and to support our incident and investigative responses to resolve cybersecurity breaches in a robust way, as well as ensuring we are aligned with partner organisations in this space such as the NCA Cyber Crime Unit, National Cyber Security Centre, NIS Competent Authorities and the Department for Digital, Culture Media and Sport.

You will work with other ICO leaders to develop training, advice services and roles across our organisation to improve our technical expertise and awareness. Externally, you will work with stakeholders in the technology sector and act to encourage and support compliance by regulated organisations in the private and public sectors You will also lead the ICO’s input to the UK cybersecurity strategy to protect the UK against threats such as hacking, ransomware, and the disruption of services that threaten the safety of our critical national infrastructure.

Director of Freedom of Information and Transparency – Level G2

We are working with Hays, our Executive Recruitment agency, to appoint a Director of Freedom of Information and Transparency to lead our teams and work in this critical area of our activity.

The role provides strategic leadership to departments that manage and process all cases and complaints relating to the application of the Freedom of Information Act, Environmental Information Regulations and Re-use of Public Sector Information Regulations against public authorities. The post holder will also have an ambassadorial role, representing the ICO at a senior level and influencing stakeholders across the government, regulatory and public sectors.
