On Wednesday 26 February at 2pm the ICO ran a webinar discussing the our AI auditing framework project.
The webinar was presented by Dr Reuben Binns, our Postdoctoral Research Fellow in AI and Alister Pearson, Senior Policy Officer. It centred around the content of the draft guidance on the AI auditing framework, which is currently out for consultation, with discussions about how the ICO’s thinking has evolved since a call for views was launched in early 2019 and how it will shape the ICO’s regulatory work in the future.
We discussed how the guidance will be helpful for both risk practitioners and technology specialists in practice. As well as, what feedback we want to gain before the final version goes live, from both stakeholders who have engaged with this work before and those who haven’t.
Finally, during the webinar we laid out the next steps for this project, including timeframes for the guidance and plans for other tools for stakeholders.
