The Information Commissioner, Elizabeth Denham is pleased to announce the appointment of two new deputy commissioners.
James Dipple-Johnstone joins the ICO as Deputy Commissioner – Operations and Steve Wood, previously ICO Head of International Strategy, takes up the role of Deputy Commissioner – Policy.
Elizabeth Denham, Information Commissioner, said:
“I am delighted to have these two highly capable individuals join the ICO's senior team at this important time.
“The information rights landscape is going through a time of transformation, being reshaped by both the digital economy and the arrival of a game changing piece of data protection legislation, the GDPR.
"I am confident that both Steve and James will prove to be great assets to my senior leadership team as we navigate these changes.”
James joins the ICO from his previous role as the Director of Investigation and Supervision at the Solicitors Regulatory Authority (SRA), where he led the teams assessing and investigating the 12,000 reports it receives each year.
Steve Wood replaces Rob Luke, who has left the ICO to pursue other opportunities.
