The Information Commissioner's Scotland Office is based in the centre of Edinburgh. Edinburgh is well served by transport links.

Travelling by rail

Edinburgh has two railway stations – Edinburgh Waverley and Haymarket. The office is closer to Haymarket station.

If you arrive at Haymarket station, the office can be walked to in around 5 minutes. Walk eastwards along Haymarket Terrace to Manor Place, walk northwards along Manor Place, turn right into Melville Street. The Scotland Office is on the north-west side of the Street. Report to Reception.

If you arrive at Waverley station, the office can be walked to in around 20 minutes. Exit station via Waverley Bridge. Walk from Waverley Bridge northwards towards Princes Street, walk westwards along Princes Street and Shandwick Place to Manor Place, walk northwards along Manor Place, turn right into Melville Street. The Scotland Office is on the north-west side of the Street. Report to Reception.

By bus from Waverley railway station - Exit station via Waverley Bridge. Walk from Waverley Bridge northwards towards Princes Street, walk westwards along south side of Princes Street to Lothian Buses Route Numbers 12, 26, 31 to Haymarket. Alight on Haymarket Terrace. Walk eastwards along Haymarket Terrace to Manor Place, walk northwards along Manor Place, turn right into Melville Street. The Scotland Office is on the north-west side of the Street. Report to Reception.

Travelling by car

Please note driving in central Edinburgh is not recommended. There is no parking for visitors to the Scotland Office but there is limited on-street parking. It is advised that anyone travelling by road use the various Park and Ride facilities on the outskirts of the city. The journey at peak times to the city centre is around 30-40 minutes by bus.

From Edinburgh Airport

By taxi

Exit airport terminal. Walk to Taxi Rank. The fare is approximately £20. The journey into the city centre takes approximately 20 minutes.

By public transport

Exit airport terminal. Follow signs to Lothian Buses Air Link Bus Rank (Service 100) or Tram Link. The journey into the city centre takes approximately 30 minutes. Alight at Haymarket. Walk eastwards along Haymarket Terrace to Manor Place, walk northwards along Manor Place, turn right into Melville Street. The Scotland Office is on the north-west side of the Street. Report to Reception.
