The complainant has requested copies of rejected nomination statements for Bexley Civic Recognition Awards 2023. The London Borough of Bexley (“the Council”) initially sought to withhold the requested information under section 41 (information provided in confidence) of FOIA, however, at internal review amended its position and withheld the requested information under section 40(2) (personal data). The Commissioner’s decision is that the Council is entitled to rely on section 40(2) to withhold the requested information. The Commissioner does not require any steps.
