The complainant has requested information from the Department of Finance Northern Ireland (DoF) in relation to internal audits. DOF refused to disclose some of the requested information (“the withheld information”), citing sections 43(2) and 40(2) of FOIA as a basis for non-disclosure.
The Commissioner’s decision is that DOF has correctly applied sections 40(2) and 43(2) to the withheld information.
The Commissioner does not require any steps to be taken by DOF.
