Add a Data Protection Officer (DPO)

Use this service to add or update a Data Protection Officer (DPO).

You'll need your registration reference and security number.

If you are the nominated contact and can’t find your security number, you can request a reminder below.

If you are not able to request the security number, you can email us at [email protected]. When sending your email to us please put ‘Add a DPO’ in the subject line. In the body of the email, please include:

the registration reference for your organisation;
whether you are required to provide the details of your DPO, or if you are doing so voluntarily; and
the name, address, phone number and/or email address of your DPO if they are an individual (eg a member of staff or a member of your organisation); or
the name, address, phone number and/or email address of the external organisation that will be carrying out the DPO duties on your behalf.

Please note: We will publish details of all controllers who pay the data protection fee on the ‘register of fee payers’. Please state clearly within your email whether or not you wish to publish the name of your DPO if they are an individual.
