Complaints about home CCTV systems

Follow up with the CCTV user

Before complaining to the ICO, you should follow up your request with the user directly.

Although the law gives people 30 days to respond to a request, the CCTV user may not be refusing to action your request on purpose, but they may be very busy or struggling with the technology. You should give them the chance to explain why it has taken them longer than a month.

When responding to home CCTV complaints, we would always expect you to follow up with the user first. If you complain before following up, we may ask you to follow up first. his will delay the progress of your complaint.
