During the committee stage of the Digital Economy Bill, the former Information Commissioner, Elizabeth Denham, committed to reviewing the data sharing powers contained in the Bill, now enacted as the Digital Economy Act 2017, and to share the review’s findings with Parliament.

This review summarises the ICO’s views on the data sharing framework in the Digital Economy Act and our comments on the data sharing that has taken place.
