The UK’s independent authority set up to uphold information rights in the public interest, promoting openness by public bodies and data privacy for individuals.

During the coronavirus pandemic you can still report concerns to us about an organisation’s information rights practices.

However, in line with Government advice, our offices are closed and our staff are working from home. We continue to deliver all our services, but we ask you to bear with us if there is a delay in dealing with your enquiry.

We have published information about how we are regulating during the pandemic, including how we deal with complaints.

Need help? Start a live chat or call our helpline on 0303 123 1113.

Our normal opening hours are Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm (excluding bank holidays).

The Information Commissioner is not in a position to respond in person to all the matters raised with their office by the public. The Commissioner delegates such casework correspondence to be dealt with by their staff.
