The complainant requested the City of London (‘CoL’) to release copies of all correspondence between Alderman Luder and all Church of Scientology organisations in the last five years. The CoL responded refusing to comply with this request under section 14(1) of the Act. As the complainant remained dissatisfied, he approached the Commissioner. The Commissioner investigated the complaint and decided that section 14(1) of the Act does apply to this request. He therefore requires no further steps to be taken. Information Tribunal appeal EA/2011/0082 allowed.
