Ministry of Justice
- Date 16 August 2011
- Sector Central government
- Decision(s) FOI 12: Not upheld, FOI 16: Not upheld
The complainant asked the Ministry of Justice (the “public authority”) to provide background information relating to some reoffending statistics it had published. The public authority confirmed that it held the requested information but refused to comply with the request on the grounds that the cost of compliance would exceed the appropriate limit under section 12 of the Freedom of Information Act (the “Act”). The Commissioner has investigated and finds that the public authority correctly cited section 12(1) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000. He requires no further steps to be taken.
