The complainant has requested information about the cost, and agreed terms, of a settlement agreed between Stoke-on-Trent City Council and a named party during 2008. Stoke-on-Trent City Council refused the requested information under the provisions of section 36 of FOIA (prejudice to the effective conduct of public affairs). The Commissioner’s decision is that Stoke-on-Trent City Council has correctly refused the requested information. The Commissioner does not require the public authority to take any steps to ensure compliance with the legislation.
