Victoria and Albert Museum

The complainant has requested information relating to the qualifying standards and ages of people who qualified for shortlisting for the position of gallery assistant at the Victoria & Albert Museum (“the V&A”). The V&A provided information on the essential criteria for the job and how this was assessed and a statistical summary showing candidates grouped into age bands. Any further information was refused on the basis of section 41 and 40(2). The Commissioner’s decision is that the V&A has correctly applied section 41 to withhold the requested information and requires no steps to be taken.
