The complainant has requested from Staffordshire County Council (‘the council’) a list of internal audit reports. The Commissioner’s decision is that the council has incorrectly applied the exemption for prohibitions on disclosure at section 44 of the FOIA. The Commissioner requires the public authority to take the following step to ensure compliance with the legislation. Disclose the requested list of Internal Audit reports and the assurance given.
