The complainant has requested information from Wirral Metropolitan Borough Council (“the council”) about the departure of a council officer. Following steps ordered in a previous decision notice (FS50491264), the council subsequently disclosed some information but withheld the remainder under the exemption provided by section 40(2) of the Freedom of Information Act (“the FOIA”). The Commissioner’s decision is that the council has correctly applied section 40(2). The Commissioner does not require any steps to be taken.
