Somerset County Council

The complainant requested information from Somerset County Council (the Council) which was either redacted, or not previously published, in 36 separate datasets which detailed the Council’s spending on items over £500. The Council estimated that the cost of complying with the request exceeded the appropriate cost limit of £450 and therefore it was relying on section 12(1) of FOIA to refuse to comply with the request. The Commissioner has concluded that the Council is entitled to rely on section 12(1).
