The complainant has requested information from Wirral Metropolitan Borough Council (“the council”) about any council officers who have received compensation from the council for internal disputes or complaints. The council refused the request under the exemption provided by section 40(2) of the Freedom of Information Act (“the FOIA”). The Commissioner’s decision is that the council has correctly applied section 40(2). The Commissioner does not require any steps to be taken. Information Tribunal appeal EA/2014/0305 dismissed.
