The complainant requested information concerning two named companies relating to their expulsion from a defence industry exhibition held in London in September 2013. The Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) refused to confirm or deny whether it held this information under the following exemptions from the FOIA: 30(3) (information held for the purposes of an investigation), 31(3) (prejudice to law enforcement) and 40(5) (personal information). The Commissioner’s decision is that MPS cited section 30(3) correctly and so it was not obliged to confirm or deny whether it held the requested information.
