The complainant has requested the university to disclose any information it holds detailing the decision to appoint the conveners selected to hear two disciplinary hearings in March 2014. The university responded to this request by refusing to disclose the requested information under section 36(2)(b)(ii) of the FOIA. The Commissioner’s decision is that the university correctly applied section 36(2)(b)(ii) of the FOIA in this case that the public interest in favour of disclosure is outweighed by the public interest in maintaining the exemption on this occasion.The Commissioner does not require any further action to be taken.
