  • Date 11 November 2014
  • Sector Local government
  • Decision(s) FOI 1: Upheld, FOI 10: Upheld, FOI 16: Upheld

The complainant has requested information relating to the number of occasions where vehicles and structures have been left overnight in a specified part of St Georges Street, Canterbury. The Commissioner’s decision is that Canterbury City Council (“the Council”) held recorded information relevant to the complainant’s request, although not for the six month period he asked for. The Commissioner therefore finds that the Council has contravened section 1 of the FOIA. The Commissioner also finds that the Council has contravened section 10 of the FOIA by failing to comply with the request within twenty working days, and section 16 of the FOIA for failing to provide the complainant with appropriate advice and assistance. The Commissioner does not require the Council to take any further action in this matter.
