The complainant submitted two requests for information relating to specified prison rules and procedures from the Ministry of Justice (the ‘MOJ’). By the date of this notice, the MOJ has yet to provide a substantive response to these requests. The Information Commissioner’s decision is that the MOJ breached section 10 of the FOIA in that it failed to provide valid responses to both requests within 20 working days of receipt. He requires the public authority to respond to the requests in accordance with the obligations under the FOIA.
