The complainant has requested information about complaints against consultants working in Ysbyty Gwynedd’s Endocrinology and Care of the Elderly departments.  Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board (‘the Board’) provided the complainant with anonymised information and not the specific information they requested.  It said that to provide the information as requested risked identifying one or more of the consultants involved. The Commissioner’s decision is that, under the FOIA, the Board was not obliged to confirm whether or not it held the requested information on the basis of section 40(5)(b)(i). However, the Commissioner requires no steps to be taken as a result of this decision.
