The complainant has requested information relating to the Office of National Statistics’ (ONS) plans for a new electronic management system. During the course of the Commissioner’s investigation the scope of the complaint was narrowed to focus solely on information that had been withheld under section 42, legal professional privilege. The Commissioner’s decision is that the ONS was entitled to rely on section 42 to withhold that information. The Commissioner does not require the ONS to take any further action in this matter.
