  • Decision(s) FOI 24: Not upheld

The complainant requested training materials provided to educational establishments that concern preventing extremism. The Home Office refused to disclose this information under the exemptions provided by the following sections of the FOIA: 24(1) (national security), 31(1)(a) (prejudice to the prevention or detection of crime) and 36(2)(c) (prejudice to the effective conduct of public affairs). The Commissioner’s decision is that the Home Office cited section 24(1) correctly and so it was not obliged to disclose this information.Â
