The complainant requested information about the Home Office correspondence with a named national charity whose Chief Executive had written to a national newspaper in support of the then Regulatory Powers Bill. The Commissioner’s decision is that the Home Office have complied with FOIA in disclosing information to the complainant with minor redactions which had been made relying on the section 23(1) and 40(2) FOIA exemptions. The Commissioner does not require the Home Office to take any steps to comply with the legislation.
