The complainant requested copies of a number of reports produced by the Extremism Analysis Unit. The Home Office refused this request, citing the exemption provided by section 35(1)(a) (formulation or development of government policy) of the FOIA. The Commissioner’s decision is that the Home Office cited section 35(1)(a) correctly and so it was not obliged to disclose the requested information.
