Reading Borough Council

  • Date 7 December 2018
  • Sector Local government
  • Decision(s) FOI 40(1): Not upheld

The complainant requested information, via the whatdotheyknow.com (“WDTK”) website, relating to an email he had previously sent. The Commissioner’s decision is that all the information that has been requested is the complainant’s own personal data. She therefore finds that Reading Borough Council was not obliged to supply any information under the FOIA as any information which the Council held within the scope of the request would attract the absolute exemption at Section 40(1) of the FOIA. The Commissioner does not require the Council to take any further steps. Information Tribunal appeal EA/2019/0002 struck out.
