The complainant has requested the amount of money paid to a certain officer to “encourage” that officer’s resignation. The Commissioner’s decision is that the Governing Body of the University of Sussex has correctly used Section 40(5) to neither confirm nor deny holding information as confirmation or denial would have breached the Data Protection Principles. The Commissioner does not require any further steps. Information Tribunal appeal EA/2019/0074 dismissed.
