The complainant has requested, from the DWP, the “packs of information” provided to the Universal Credit programme board members for April, May and June 2017.The DWP relies on sections 43 (commercial interests), 35 (formulation of government policy), 40(2) (personal data) and 31 (the prevention or detection of crime) to withhold some of the requested information. The Commissioner’s decision is that DWP incorrectly relied on sections 43, 35, but correctly relied on section 31, to withhold requested information. Information Tribunal appeal EA/2019/0128 withdrawn.
