The complainant has requested information about an alleged incident from the Metropolitan Police Service (the “MPS”). The MPS would neither confirm nor deny (NCND) whether it held any information, citing the exemptions at sections 40(5B)(a)(i) (personal information), section 30(3) (investigations and proceedings) and section 31(3) (law enforcement) of the FOIA.
The Commissioner’s decision is that the MPS was entitled to rely on section 30(3). No steps are required.
