The complainant requested from Bristol City Council (“the Council”) information relating to the Council’s legal basis for applying to the court for permission to collect council tax debt. The Council refused the request under section 14(1) (vexatious requests) of the FOIA.
The Commissioner’s decision is that the request was vexatious and the Council was therefore entitled to rely on section 14(1) of the FOIA to refuse to comply with this request.
The Commissioner does not require the Council to take any steps as a result of this decision.
