The complainant requested copies of various guidance documents relating to court security. The Ministry of Justice (MoJ) confirmed it held the requested information but refused to provide it, citing sections 31(1)(a) and (c) (law enforcement) of FOIA. The Commissioner’s decision is that the MoJ was entitled to rely on section 31(1)(a) and (c) and that the public interest favoured maintaining the exemption.
The Commissioner requires no steps to be taken as a result of this decision.
