The complainant has requested information relating to a helicopter crash in 1994 in which 29 people lost their lives. The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) relied on sections 23(5), 24(2) 30(3) and 31(3) of FOIA to refuse to confirm or deny whether it held any relevant information.
The Commissioner’s decision is that PSNI was entitled to rely on sections 23(5) and 24(2) to refuse confirm nor deny whether it held the requested information. No steps are required.
