The complainant has requested costing and general information about events held in Gunnersbury Park from the Metropolitan Police Service (the “MPS”). The MPS advised that it was unable to comply with the request as to do so would exceed the appropriate limit in section 12(1) (Cost of compliance) of FOIA.
The Commissioner’s decision is that the MPS was entitled to rely on section 12(1) to refuse the request and that it complied with it’s duties under section 16 (Advice and assistance). However, as the MPS responded late, he finds breaches of sections 1(1) (General right of access) and 10(1) (Time for compliance) of FOIA. No steps are required.
