The complainant has requested information about internally funded PhD support. The University of Sussex (‘the University’) refused to comply with the request, citing section 14(1) (vexatious requests) of FOIA as its basis for doing so. 
The Commissioner’s decision is that the University was entitled to rely on section 14(1) of FOIA to refuse to comply with the request.
The Commissioner does not require the University to take any further steps on this matter. Information Tribunal FTT EA/2023/0522 appeal allowed.
