The complainant requested information from the Cabinet Office relating to wildfires. The Cabinet Office refused to comply with the request citing section 12 (cost limit) of FOIA.
The Commissioner’s decision is that the Cabinet Office was entitled to refuse to comply with the request in accordance with section 12(1) of FOIA. The Commissioner also finds that the Cabinet Office complied with its obligations under section 16 to offer advice and assistance.
The Commissioner does not require the Cabinet Office to take any steps. Information Tribunal FTT EA/2024/0026 appeal struck out.
