The complainant has requested legal advice from the Metropolitan Police Service (the “MPS”). The MPS refused to provide the requested information citing sections 42(1) (Legal professional privilege) and 40(2) (Personal information) of FOIA. The Commissioner’s decision is that section 42(1) is engaged and that the public interest favours maintaining the exemption. The Commissioner does not require any steps.
