The complainant requested information from the Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) regarding a deceased person. The FCDO disclosed some information, however it applied sections 23(5), 24(2), 27 and 40(2) of FOIA to the remaining information (“the withheld information”).
The Commissioner’s decision is that the exemptions as set out in sections 23(5), 24(2), 27 and 40(2) of FOIA are engaged.
The Commissioner’s decision is also that the FCDO has breached sections 1 and 10 of FOIA by failing to respond within the statutory time for compliance.
No steps are required as a result of this decision.
