The public authority has failed to respond to this request within 20 working days, as specified under FOIA. The Commissioner requires it to provide the complainant with a response to this request within 35 calendar days in accordance with its obligations under FOIA.

Following the issue of the Decision Notice it was brought to the Commissioner's attention that the Home Office had responded to the request on 21 December 2023 and informed the Commissioner accordingly on 4 January 2024. The Commissioner regrets not having recognised that when issuing this Decision Notice. He therefore wishes to clarify this point and that the remedial step is therefore not required. However, the finding in the Decision Notice remains accurate due to the time taken to respond to the request.
