The complainant has requested anonymised candidate interview information for a vacant position of a Visitor Services Manager. Queen’s University Belfast (QUB) relied on section 40(2) of FOIA (third party personal information) to withhold the information.
The Commissioner’s decision is that the QUB has correctly relied on section 40(2) of FOIA to withhold the information. However, in failing to provide its refusal within the statutory timeframe QUB breached section 17 (refusal notice) of FOIA.
The Commissioner does not require further steps to be taken.
