The complainant has requested information relating to the handling of queries from them (name redacted) and the DE press office. The Department of Education for Northern Ireland (DENI) refused the request, citing section 36(2)(b)(i) - Prejudice to the effective conduct of public affairs of FOIA.
The Commissioner’s decision is that the DENI was entitled to rely on section 36(2)(b)(i) to refuse the request and that the public interest lies in maintaining the exemption.
The Commissioner does not require any steps to be taken as a result of this decision.
