In a two part request, the complainant requested information about offences involving slingshots. Nottinghamshire Police disclosed some relevant information. However, the Commissioner’s decision is that Nottinghamshire Police misinterpreted the second part of the complainant’s request and therefore hasn’t complied with section 1(1) of FOIA. The Commissioner requires Nottinghamshire Police to take the following step to ensure compliance with the legislation: Issue the complainant with a fresh response to the second part of their request, either by disclosing information of the description specified or by refusing it in accordance with section 17 of FOIA.
