The complainant submitted a request to the Cabinet Office for information about the Prime Minister’s meeting with the Malaysian Prime Minister in January 2025. The Cabinet Office withheld information falling within the scope of the request on the basis of sections 27(1)(a), (c) and (d) (international relations) and section 35(1)(d) (operation of any Ministerial private office) of FOIA. The Commissioner’s decision is that the information in the scope of the request is exempt from disclosure on the basis of sections 27(1)(a), (c) and (d) and the public interest favours maintaining each of these exemptions.
