  • Decision(s) EIR 12(4)(b): Not upheld

The complainant requested various information in respect of all veterinary medicines which contain fipronil and/or imidacloprid. The Veterinary Medicines Directorate (the VMD) refused the request on the basis that it was manifestly unreasonable and subsequently confirmed to the Commissioner that it was relying on regulation 12(4)(b) (manifestly unreasonable) of the EIR. It also confirmed that it is relying on regulation 12(5)(e) in respect of items 13, 14 and 16. The Commissioner’s decision is that the VMD was entitled to rely on regulation 12(4)(b) for the whole request. The Commissioner does not require any steps.
