Department for Work and Pensions (DWP)

1.    The complainant has requested information regarding a human rights law training course.  Department for Work and Pensions (‘DWP’) refused the request, citing sections 36(2)(b)(i), 36(2)(c) (Prejudice to effective conduct of public affairs) and 42 (legal professional privilege) of FOIA.
2.    The Commissioner’s decision is that was entitled to rely on the exemption at section 36(2)(b)(i) above to refuse the request.  The Commissioner considers that section 36(2)(b)(i) applies to the entirety of the withheld information.
3.    The Commissioner requires no steps to be taken as a result of this decision.
