Data protection fee self assessment

You don't need to pay a fee

Our records show you have an existing registration with us. Based on your answers, you no longer need to pay a data protection fee.

This might be because:

  • your business's processing activities have changed;
  • you are not currently trading; or
  • you were paying the fee even though you weren't required to.

If this is not the case, please contact us and a member of our data protection fee team will be able to advise whether you still need to pay your fee.

How to cancel your registration

If you no longer need to pay a data protection fee, please complete our online cancellation form below.

If you cancel a registration which is paid by direct debit, you’ll also need to cancel the direct debit with the bank or building society.

The data protection fee is a legal requirement for organisations processing data in the UK (that don't qualify for an exemption). Failure to pay could result in a fine, so you must be sure you do not need to pay before cancelling your registration.
