Stage one - Can I share personal data with a law enforcement authority?

Data protection legislation only applies when you are sharing personal data (information that relates to an identified or identifiable individual). If you have not been asked to share personal data then you do not need to complete this toolkit.

This toolkit is to help organisations decide whether they can share personal data with a law enforcement authority for law enforcement purposes. This toolkit does not apply if the organisation requesting the data from you is not a law enforcement authority. Please see our data sharing code for more guidance.
