Make a complaint about how an organisation has used your personal information

Complain to the ICO

If you’ve not received a response to your complaint after one month you can complain to us.

Please note: An organisation can refuse or only provide some of the information you have asked for when an exemption applies.

If you complain to us, you’ll need to provide the following information:

    • copies of any letters or emails about your complaint, between you and the organisation (if you submit a screenshot of any emails, messages, letters etc. please include the date you received or sent them); and
    • any other evidence that supports your complaint.

If you’re complaining for someone else, you will need to send us a letter of consent signed by them or evidence that you can act on their behalf.

If you do not provide the information we need, it may delay the progress of your complaint.

When you submit your complaint you must attach the responses you have received from the organisation. If you do not attach this information when you submit the form it will delay the progress of your complaint.
